FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS (FAQ)
Does my child need speech therapy?
If your child is difficult to understand, frustrated by their inability to be understood, self-conscious about their speech, presents with age-inappropriate or nondevelopmental speech sound errors, and/or your pediatrician has raised concerns, speech therapy is recommended. Additionally, referring to a speech sound development norms chart is helpful; the majority of children can produce most speech sounds correctly by 5 years old.
How long are therapy sessions?
Therapy sessions are 30 minutes. Depending on the child’s type and severity of speech sound disorder, therapy is typically recommended 1x, 2x, or 3x per week.
Do you accept insurance?
No, Schneiderman Speech Therapy is considered private pay and an out-of-network provider. Upon request, a super bill can be provided, which you can submit to your insurance as an out-of-network provider for reimbursement. Due to differing insurance policies, reimbursement is not guaranteed. Payment is due at the time of service by cash or check made payable to Sophia Schneiderman.
Do I need to fill out any paperwork?
Yes, four documents will be emailed to you prior to the first speech therapy session; please print and complete the following forms: (1) Client Intake, (2) Informed Consent for Treatment, (3) HIPAA Notice of Privacy Practices, and (4) Payment & Cancellation Policy forms.
